Who are we?
The Suspension and Powertrain teams are central to race car performance, handling and reliability.
The Suspension team designs wheel connection and vehicle behavior. It develops kinematics (wishbones, mounting points) to optimize camber and toe behavior, and tunes springs and dampers for maximum mechanical grip and precise control.
The Powertrain team focuses on power delivery and cooling. Core tasks include integrating the drivetrain (from electric motor to wheel) and designing efficient cooling and lubrication systems. The objective is reliable maximum performance with minimal losses.
What do we do and where can you get involved?
Design and Assembly
- Design: Support detailed CAD development of components (e.g. uprights, wishbones, gearbox mounts), including drawings, FEM analysis and interface coordination with other assemblies.
- Assembly: Contribute to manufacturing preparation, assembly of complex systems and final adjustment to ensure proper functionality. This is where design meets reality.
Suspension Design and Setup Development
- Suspension development: Work on kinematic optimization (e.g. roll center, anti-dive/anti-squat geometry) and damper/spring tuning using data, calculations and handling models.
- Setup iteration: Analyze telemetry data after testing (tire pressure, temperatures, damper travel) and propose targeted setup changes to improve lap time and track adaptation.
Procurement
- Parts management: Help identify and select suitable standard parts (bearings, fasteners, seals) and coordinate orders with partners and suppliers.
- Supplier communication: Coordinate with sponsors and partners on required materials, manufacturing processes (e.g. CNC machining, laser cutting) and delivery schedules to keep the build plan on track.
