Who are we?
We are PowerElo, the team responsible for bringing the race car to life. The name combines Powertrain and Electronics. In short, we develop the electric drivetrain and the vehicle's electronic systems.
The electric drivetrain refers to all high-voltage components (>60V DC), including accumulator, motors, inverters, and associated boards and cables.
Electronic systems (control units, data lines, safety loop) handle command communication (e.g. accelerator to inverters and motors) and safe shutdown in fault conditions.
What do we do and where can you get involved?
Control Units / PCBs
All control units and PCBs are designed according to functional requirements. After internal review, boards and components are ordered. Following assembly and soldering, firmware is developed and validated. Finally, units are integrated into their housings and installed in the vehicle.
Wiring Harness
To supply all systems and enable communication, dedicated members design and route the full harness architecture. Harnesses are pre-manufactured with one of our sponsors, then installed in the car with final connector and switch integration.
Motors and Inverters
Motors and inverters are integrated into the overall vehicle package. Key topics include electrical interfaces, packaging constraints and thermal management, which requires close cross-module coordination.
Accumulator
Our accumulator consists of nearly 300 individual cells. Responsibilities include cell selection and testing, plus design of the module stacks that are connected to build the full accumulator system.
